Frequently Asked Questions

I want to become a pilot but have no idea where to start. What do I do?
Great question! Remember, all great pilots started with their first flight. We offer a free Flight Training Consultation. You will sit down with one of our Chief Pilots or our Flight School Director, where you will have the opportunity to ask all the questions you can imagine. We will provide you with answers relating to time commitment, costs, scholarships and financing options, and license requirements. Afterward, the next step would be to schedule a discovery flight with one of our instructors. During the discovery flight, you will log about a half-hour of flight time at the command of our Cessna 150. The discovery flight is only $99.00.
I was told I have to be 17 to be a pilot. Is this true?
While you do have to be 17 years of age to receive your Private Pilot Certificate, you can start your training at any age before or after that. In fact, you only need to be 16 to solo an airplane and we have students as young as 15 start their training. There is no right age to begin your flight training dreams!
Do I have to be rich to become a pilot?
Great question as this is a common misconception! While flight training can be expensive, it is not unachievable. Most people do not pay for flight training out of pocket completely.
We offer financing opportunities to pay for your flight training as well as scholarship resources to help offset the costs. Please check the Scholarships and Financing Tab for more information
How long will my flight training be?
The training duration will depend on your commitment and study habits. The average training duration is Private License: 3-5 Months, Instrument Rating: 3 Months, Commercial License: 3-5 Months. We will work with your schedule to accommodate your training needs. We also offer an accelerated Private Pilot Course in two weeks. Please call for more information on this program!
